Home Warranty
Luckily, the home warranty was jusrt renewed, and when we tried to contact them about replacing our 30 year old water heater, they wanted to know the serial number. We gave it to them, and they put us on hold for ten minutes. They came back saying the company that made our water heater claims they never manufactured that one. An associate would just have to verify what the plumber verified just yesterday. We persuaded them to just let us send them a picture of the plate. Later this afternoon, they got back to us and said, that, since our water heater is 30 years or so old, along with the piping and the flue, the whole system would need to be upgraded to code. The current code says that the heater has to be 40% more efficient than it burns. And, since the county never misses a chance to get money, we have to get a $100 permit becuase we're making a big change in the house. What a day with the home warranty company!
